Casais Group Trainee Programme

CLOSED

Our Trainee Programme

The “Arte e Engenho” (Art & Skill) programme aims to challenge and attract young talent, motivating them to face the challenges of a dynamic market and preparing them for a successful professional career.

Over the course of 12 months, the Casais Group trainee programme helps to integrate high-potential young people into the Casais culture, while creating a team with strong and lasting bonds.

Programme Structure

The key challenge for the organisation is to integrate trainees into the Casais culture. All activities are designed to reinforce the company’s culture, values, and alignment with its strategy and goals, with continuous feedback being a fundamental premise of the programme. This allows the company to manage trainees’ expectations with regard to their future roles at Casais in a transparent way.

At the start of the programme, each trainee is assigned a mentor who will guide and support them throughout the entire programme.

Throughout each professional experience, trainees are accompanied by a supervisor, a senior manager within the company who helps them integrate into the respective team. This person is responsible for overseeing the work plans, tasks, and expected outcomes, as well as evaluating the trainee after each rotation.

In parallel, trainees have a specific support programme coordinated by the Career Management Center team and the opportunity to participate in various activities within the organisation.

Performance evaluations are ongoing and based on the trainee’s progress.

Recruitment Process Stages

Our selection process for the programme consists of four stages, all of which are elimination rounds. All candidates who successfully pass the resume screening stage will receive feedback regarding their continuation in the process, as well as those who do not progress further.

1 – Resume Screening

2 – In-person evaluation with the Recruitment & Selection team

3 – Evaluation with Casais Group Directors

4 – Interview with the CEO

Throughout the process, we evaluate the candidates’ technical and behavioral skills, as well as their professional ambitions and their personal and academic backgrounds.

This process also provides the organisation with an opportunity to map the competencies of these young talents and assess their alignment with Casais’ values and culture.

Testimonials

The Arte e Engenho programme has enabled the transfer of knowledge among several Casais Group companies related to the industry.

“As the first candidate of all editions in the field of engineering and industrial management, these last few months have been full of challenges and learning experiences, as the Group has focused on innovation and industrialisation in the construction sector.

In addition, the international experience in Angola significantly contributed to my professional and personal growth. I learned to adapt to new contexts and view change as an opportunity for growth.”

Rúben Barros

“The Arte e Engenho programme was an excellent kick-off for my professional career, opening up a range of opportunities and options for my path at Casais.”

David Araújo

8th Edition Trainee,
Site Director

“In my opinion, the Arte e Engenho programme is the ideal way for a recent graduate to start their journey at Casais, immediately entering a professional environment that involves many of the company’s departments. This exposure and holistic experience is a huge asset, as they later give us the vision, better knowledge of the company and the business, and the confidence to perform our assigned tasks more effectively.”

Nuno Conde

1st Edition Trainee,
Technical-Commercial Director

“Being a trainee in the Arte e Engenho programme at Casais was crucial in starting my career in civil engineering. Rotating through all the departments and having a global vision of the company’s operations not only made it easier to integrate, but also helped me to understand the direction I wanted to take in my professional career.”

Inês Lopes

11th Edition Trainee,
Assistant Site Manager

“Arte e Engenho is an excellent opportunity to learn and grow, both personally and professionally. We have the chance to immerse ourselves in all the components that make up the construction universe. The journey is tailored to each trainee’s profile, and we are constantly driven by the collaborative spirit around us.”

Ana Correia

11th Edition Trainee,
Budgeting and Preparation Technician

Being part of the Arte & Engenho programme is an opportunity that all recent graduates should have at the beginning of their professional careers, regardless of their field of study. The transition from academia to professional life is complex and challenging. Not knowing exactly what we like or don’t like, or being able to distinguish what we want to do from what we don’t want to do is to be expected. The programme not only helped me answer these questions, but also provided me with personal and professional growth and self-discovery. The opportunity to rotate through different departments and experience different professional roles within the company gave me a broad view of how it operates, helped me understand the business, meet people and learn methodologies, and discover a variety of professional paths and opportunities within the Group, allowing me to choose the best path for my career in line with my interests and ambitions.

Bernardo Custódio

14th Edition Trainee,
Budgeting and Preparation Technician

The Arte e Engenho programme is a very well structured and clearly defined internship programme. The internship plan includes rotations through several departments of the company, tailored to each trainee, which helps build relationships with the team members and managers in each department. This understanding at the departmental level gradually evolves into a global understanding of how Casais operates, fostering a sense of belonging to the Group, integration, and the development of the Casais DNA. This company truly offers challenges and opportunities and creates an environment where it’s safe to make mistakes, learn, grow, and strive to do better every day.

Sara Castro

10th Edition Trainee,
Operations Analyst

The Arte e Engenho programme contributed greatly to my dynamic integration into the company. It allowed me to get to know the inner workings of each department individually, and later, how they interacted. Most importantly, it has allowed me to meet the people who work in the different sectors and understand the roles they play. This is the aspect I find most interesting about the programme.
